Where Form Meets Function™

Five Eighty Four ("Comet")

2000 bay JC TB
Miswaki – Purely Social, by State Dinner

Here's a thoroughbred stallion with warmblood looks, bone and movement. Measuring at 16.1h, this boy is expected to add size to most TB mares and compliment most warmblood types. He's probably not the perfect cross for a heavy mare needing a lot of refinement.

2005 was Comet's first year at stud, and we can't wait to see what he throws. His first foal is due in February, and we couldn't be more excited.

Five Eighty Four has a solid race record, with winning distances at a mile and Allowance placings at Aqueduct and Saratoga. We think he's a nice choice for someone wanting to add some distance blood to their racing program.

A $330,000 yearling, Comet showed his quality early. His late Sire, Miswaki, is among the leading Sires in France and North America. Miswaki's 90+ stakes winners include the 1991 Horse of the Year and Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) winner Black Tie Affair. His daughters have produced more than 110 stakes winners. We're sure Five Eighty Four will follow in his father's fabulous footsteps.

Five Eighty Four's dam, Purely Social, cannot be overlooked in studying his pedigree. A race winner herself, she is ½ to the Stakes winning and multiple track record holder, Stormy Deep. Her 2nd dam is the multiple G1 Stakes winning Coraggioso (who was also ½ sister to TV Commercial). By combining her lineage with Miskwaki's, Five Eighty Four is able to add multiple doses of the highly desirable La Troienne blood to your resulting foal. As they say, "if your mare doesn't have La Troienne, you should add some. And if she does, you should add more!!"

His barn name of "Comet" is due to the white spot on his shoulder. An odd little birthmark, it looks like a comet when it goes streaking around the field!
